Error: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site xxxxxxxx Operation aborted

This is due to the incorrect installation of Dynamic Converter.

Please ensure you have placed the installation string just before the close </body> tag.

I have installed Dynamic Converter but none of the prices are being converted. What have I missed?

The reason why no conversion is taking place is because Dynamic Converter is auto detecting prices with the following format

Currency Symbol ($,£,¥,€) Space (optional) Numbers (16 or 16.00 or 2,568.90)

If Dynamic Converter does not detect this formated text then it is skipped.

Will convert: $ 157.89, $156 and £15.00

Will Not convert: USD 157.89 or $AUD 134.00 (by default)

If you base currency does not use currency symbols EG ZAR 100.00 or 690.00 Sk you will need to update the following options within your Dynamic Converter console.

Base currency symbol: set to your currency symbol eg ZAR or Sk
Base thousand/deciamal character: change if different
Base currency display format: for our ZAR example you would select the ZAR 100.00 option and for the Sk example you would choose the 100.00 Sk option.

After updating these options, Dynamic Converter now knows how to detect prices on your site for conversion.

Things you or your Web Guru should know Dynamic converter will ...

  • Need to detect a currency symbol with the digits within the same html block.
Wrong<div class="price"><span class="symbol">$</span>15.00</div> - This will fail DC detection as the symbol is contained in its own html block.
Correct<div class="price">$15.00</div> - There can be a space between the symbol and the digits or even have the symbol after the digits.
  • The contents of the heading tags will be ignored, so no price detection will happen within the heading tags. As too with meta, option*,form inputs values and Anchor tags. *Option tags will be detected if the select tag parent has a class dcconvert tailing the class attribute.
    <SELECT class="yourstyle dcconvert" name="something"><option>Blue $34.00</option>.....
  • If your cart has dynamic update of prices for products (ajax price changes from product attribute changes), you can call Dynamic Converter to scan for the price with if (window.dc_convert_now) dc_convert_now();
  • Dynamic Converter will also execute the JavaScript function after converting the page if the JavaScript function has been defined dc_call_after_convert()
If you or your web guru, need any further help with the implementation of DC into your site, please contact us with a url to a test page which will help towards a speedy solution.

Does Dynamic Converter go on the final order shopping cart page?

Dynamic Converter is designed for informational purposes to help web site visitors see an approximate cost of products and services in their home currency. The currency conversion amount actually charged to a consumer's credit card is dependent upon a combination of the payment gateway used and the credit card bank/company's exchange rates at the exact time when the credit card is charged (with different banks charging different rates). For this reason we do not recommend that Dynamic Converter be added to the shopping cart page of a web site as the total converted amount may be different to the amount appearing on the consumer's credit card statement.

Are the Dynamic Converter currencies the exact currencies that will be charged to the web site customer?

Dynamic Converter is designed for informational purposes to help web site visitors see an approximate cost of products and services in their home currency. The currency conversion amount actually charged to a consumer's credit card is dependent upon a combination of the payment gateway used and the credit card bank/company's exchange rates at the exact time when credit card is charged (with different banks charging different rates). For this reason, the exact international rates appearing with Dynamic Converter, will not be the exact rates charged by the credit card company and appearing on the customer's credit card statement.

How should I tell my customers that the international conversions are approximate prices?

We suggest that a note be made on the web site in your preferred location (at the bottom of each page and/or in an information page section) including information such as the following : confirming that the currency conversion amounts appearing on product pages are for informational purposes and are approximate amounts in the converted currency, that the consumer's credit card will be charged in …….. (Australian dollars, UK pounds, your business currency), and the converted amounts are not necessarily the exact amount which will appear on the consumer's credit card statement.

Below is a disclaimer you may wish to place on your site.

While all care has been taken in making available and maintaining the Currency Conversion Rates displayed on this site, such conversion rates are estimates only of currency conversions that may apply to a transaction. These rates are provided for information purposes only without express or implied warranty. The Currency Conversion Rates should not be relied upon as actual currency conversion rates that may be applied to any particular transaction as such rates will frequently fluctuate over time and vary between various financial providers.
